This poem was written by James Baxter who was born and lived in New Zealand. He was brought up in a farm in a quiet and bleak south east corner of New Zealand. The poem is about a farmhand who is portrayed to be a very ambivalent character. He is unhappy and rather diffident in certain situations and extremely confident and gloriously happy in others. Some â€Å"old wounds† a past experience or probably â€Å"the secret night† which has witnessed some deep dark personal experiences relate to his emotions and melancholy. However all his sadness is vanquished once on the farm where he feels like a king. In the first two stanzas the poet describes the Farmhand as he stands outside the dancing floor. The first stanza tries to give the impression from his gestures that he is a careless person not interested in what is going around him the way he is smoking and joking with his friends. But as the poet helps us observe him closer and find him † Looking out into the secret night† and † always his eyes turning to the dance floor and the girls† we realize that the farmhand is not as he appears to be. It is obvious that he desires and longs to be inside but something is holding him back. Describing girls as â€Å"drifting like flowers† shows how he is able to appreciate their beauty and grace inspite of his work and natural settings being devoid of them. Music is personified to show effect. Baxter says the music is so emotive that the â€Å"music tears slowly in his mind an old wound open† reveals that he has had an unpleasant sad emotional experience and the deep wound has not yet healed. Painful memories may be still fresh and surface upon watching the girls dance on the floors or listening to the music or even gazing at the dark night, which shares his secret and sorrow. The reader feels very sympathetic towards the farmhand in the second stanza when the poet writes, â€Å"His red sunburnt face and hairy hands were not made for dancing or love -making†. The description of his bodily features convey he is unappealing to the girls of upper social class and not fit to indulge in â€Å"dancing and socializing or love making† which is privilege of the elite and handsome. The farmhand is engaged in an occupation, which benefits and is a necessity to all mankind. Yet his sacrifice and selfless attitude to his work is not appreciated and he feels inhibited and diffident to mix with girls because of his external appearance and social standing. He is categorized as only fit for: earth wave breaking and for using the plough† The crops are described as â€Å"slow-growing as his mind†. This simile maybe interpreted as slow to reveal his emotions and express his thoughts and feelings and may possibly be the reason he is yet to have a girlfriend or wife. The fourth stanza talks of the farmhand’s loneliness and vacuum he experiences in life. He longs for someone to love and someone who loves and cares for him. Like other people of his age and he yearns to have someone to walk with, to laugh and share life with. He has his hopes and dreams but he feels because of his â€Å"hairy hands† and â€Å"sunburnt face† he may only be able to weave or yarn dreams but they may never become a reality. Here again the reader is moved, as life has been so harsh to the farmhand because of the nature of his job that he is now even diffident and embarrassed to dream and hope. In the last stanza the poet tells us that the Farmhand is in his domain The Farm and once in his natural element he is confident and comfortable. His looks don’t affect him and his low self-esteem is vanquished. The sound of the tractor engine is music to his ears one which energizes him, not which makes him nostalgic and sad. His hairy hands, which seemed clumsy around delicate girls on the dance floor, are perfect for his job he carries out effortlessly. The poet uses the exclamation†Ah† as an exclamation of admiration towards the farmer and how perfectly he fits his role and job! It is touching to note that the persona has not been given a name and is referred throughout as â€Å"Farmhand† gives the impression that he has no personal identity and is known and recognized by his job around which his life revolves. Then all I remember was that Carlson’s gun was missing. Rumour has it that George hadda overpower Lennie to get the gun. Then Lennie got shot in a struggle but I gotta feeling that, by the way Slim was quiet, that something is not right. Everyone’s moving on now. George has left. Lennie is dead. Curley’s wife is dead. This strategy works for him in because it makes a lot of sense that competition would do these things for us. Hacking â€Å"I hacked your Facebook!† seems to me to be almost a common statement among people recently, but is it really hacking? No. Although someone could use a â€Å"brute force† program to mathematically get someone’s password it is not likely, and hardly worthwhile. Hacking can be extremely intimidating to someone who doesn’t completely understand what it is, or how it’s done. There are thousands of hackers in the world that make a living off of their skill and knowledge, not by stealing credit card information from old people who bought something online, or by taking social security numbers and selling them on a black market. These things do happen, and are possible, but are not as likely as the media would have you believe. The majority of professional hackers are referred to as â€Å"white hat† hackers. The term white hat comes from old movies when the good guy would wear a white hat, and the bad guy would wear a black hat. The first real hack happened before there were big security systems, and even before cell phones. Phreaking was the term given to the first official hackers, which dealt with telecommunication, and in this case, rotary style phones. Phreaking is a crime and is considered â€Å"toll fraud.† In some situations people with the knowledge cold use it to avoid long distance call charges. When this style of home phone was still new a long distance could even be considered across the street in some areas, and long distance calls were charged by the minute. Rotary phones have a hook that completes a circuit to send a signal, by rapidly clicking the hook for a variable number of times at roughly 5 to 10 clicks per second, separated by intervals of about one second, the caller can dial numbers as if they were using the rotary... ... 50minutes of down time. This attack was impressive on both ends, it showed the hacker had great skill, but also showed the white hats working for Reddit do an amazing job.. There are several laws in most countries against hacking in this way, and the punishments are severe, but that doesn’t stop most hackers. So is â€Å"hacking† a Facebook really hacking? Not at all. Hacking a Facebook is, at best, kiddie scripting. A script kiddie is a non-expert who breaks into computer systems by using pre-packaged automated tools written by others, usually with little understanding of the underlying concept. Even that is stretching it, if a friend leaves their Facebook open on your computer you did not hack it. If people took the time to read, understand, and not fanaticize about computer hacking it would be less intimidating, and easier to prevent on both large and small scales.

Happy, fulfilled characters are impossible to find in ‘Interpreter of Maladies’. Do you agree? The book ‘The Interpreter of Maladies’, written by Jhumpa Lahiri, have a fascinating charm, which is related to the authors describing and story proceeding skills. The character development and their story, how it goes, and how it evokes the reader’s creativeness at the end is so highly amusing indeed. The most of the stories in the book ‘The Interpreter of Maladies’ ends in vapor; meaning that there is no significant conclusion given. Which means, that the readers cannot easily all agree on one single opinion, that the all the characters in the book ‘The Interpreter of Maladies’ are not happy and fulfilled. As the story ends in a vague pathway, there is a numerous possibility and possible story that can be continued for the readers. The story might end happy sad or even vaguely again in the readers mind, and by that we cannot come to a single agreement on how the characters will end up, and mostly people would not want a sad ending for the characters. For example, the story of Shukmar and Shoba, from the story titled ‘Temporary matter’, shows that the ending can be divided in to variety of opinions. Throughout the story, the death of newly born baby, which is the cause of the crack in their relationship, and both of them avoiding each other, significantly showing the loss of communication and constant misunderstanding, indicates that Shukmar and Shoba will most likely break up with each other. Also, especially as Shoba directly states that she is planning to move out: a significant indication of their, Shoba and Shukumar’s, relation will break. However, as it seems most likely that this wed will break up, there is a significant amount of signs that indicates that their relation will continue throughout. For example, the conversation they were able to have in the dark room shows that, even though they have been trying to avoid each other as much as possible they can still communicate and understand each other in given circumstances. Also, after his confession on the baby’s gender and appearance, Shukmar gazes out to the street, warm evening with couples in arm to ar m, giving a hint that Shoba and Shukmar will be like that again. Also, Shukmar and Shoba weeping together, because they now know the things they did not, in the dark room at the end of the story shows that as they now understand each other they will be able to get along with each other. However, the interpretation of this story depends on personal perspective and opinion, but as it stands, as there is varying opinions, one cannot conclude that the characters in this book of stories are never fulfilled and happy. Another story that also illustrates that we cannot simply conclude that all the characters in this short story book cannot be fulfilled or achieves happiness is a story called ‘Mrs. Sens’. This story is about a Mrs Sen, an Indian woman who came to, still very too foreign, America. She is young and caring woman who can cook and care for children. However, although she is mature in some ways, she is also immature in some other ways. Throughout the story readers can easily conclude that Mrs Sen is not able to, and does not try to adapt to the American culture. All she do is complain and compare between her own country, India. Although this kind of behavior is acceptable for someone who is living out of their own country, but considering she is an adult this kind of behavior is very immature. Throughout the story readers can easily see that the Mrs. Sen is alienated from the country called America, her questions to Eliot, â€Å"if I scream here, will anybody come running† significantly show that she cannot understand the American culture. Also, her refusing to learn how to drive, and merely stating that ‘this is too much’ is a showing that she cannot adapt or even tries not to adapt to the American culture; driving skills indicates the basic understanding of American culture, as it is treated as bolts and nuts for grown adults. However, even though she cannot adapt to the American culture and i s alienated there is a slight indication, or an event, that her condition might improve. At the end of the story Mrs Sen, attempts to drive for her own fulfillment but ends up in a car accident. The happening shocks her greatly in mental status. Although the ending can be interpreted as Mrs. Sen’s final break down and a consequence of her continuous refusal to accept the American culture, it can also be interpreted as her improvement in the future, as people learn from their mistakes. So, readers can have their own opinions, and which means that one cannot specifically conclude that the characters in the book ‘Interpreter or Maladies’ cannot achieve fulfillment. Also, the story named ‘The Third and Final Continent’ clearly and significantly shows that the character does not end up without any fulfillment and happiness. Mala is a female Indian, and a wife of the narrator, an Indian man. She is a very skilled woman in terms of housing; she can cook wel l, clean well, and does everything well. However, she does have a natural complex; her skin color is very dark. Because of this complex of hers she was unaccepted as a woman in her country, which means her life was almost alienated in her own country.

That was my last day, I only work two days. The following experience that I lived I didn't like it that much because it wasn't what I really expec ted. This helped me to notice that I don't want to study business administration. I won't deny that I share with really good people that were so dedicated to their Job and this is admirable because there are not so many people like them that give the hundred percent in their Job.I feel that this work isn't for me because is something monotonous and I don't like that; I love to try new things and learn something new every day if it's possible. It was a good experience but sincerely this isn't what I want to be. I decided that I would look for other branches of work to know what I really want to study.
